The CMMC 2.0 Final Rule (32 CFR Part 170) became effective on December 16, 2024, marking a significant milestone in the Department of Defense’s cybersecurity initiative. The companion acquisition rule (48 CFR) was published in the Federal Register on September 10, 2025, and CMMC requirements can now be added to DoD contracts starting November 10, 2025.
